Van Hollen Announces New Director of Operations
Today, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) announced that Ashleigh Phillips has joined his senior staff team to serve as the Director of Operations.
“I’m excited to announce the addition of Ashleigh Phillips to our senior staff. Ashleigh brings with her both a deep knowledge and love of Maryland and expertise in running administrative operations on Capitol Hill. I know that she will be an asset to our office and our efforts to serve Marylanders,” said Senator Van Hollen.
Ashleigh is a resident of Waldorf, Maryland, and prior to joining Senator Van Hollen’s office, she served as the Clerk to the House Committee on Homeland Security. Before that, Ashleigh worked for the Chief Administration Office (CAO) for the House of Representatives preparing members of Congress with the tools they needed to serve their constituents. Prior to her time with the CAO, Ashleigh served as a Constituent Liaison for Representative Steny Hoyer, representing the Congressman in Maryland on a range of issues and assisting constituents with casework. Ashleigh holds a Bachelor’s degree from Hampton University and a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. She is an active member of the Southern Maryland community and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and The Links, Incorporated.
