Van Hollen Statement on 2024 Election
Today, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) released the following statement regarding the 2024 presidential election:
“Like many Americans, I am deeply disappointed and disheartened by the results of this election. But the democratic process has run its course, and I will respect the outcome. That being said, I will never – not for a moment – stop fighting for the values that I know our nation and our people strive to uphold. I will never stop pursuing the freedoms and the rights that our citizens are promised – and working to ensure that all Americans have equal access to these rights and opportunity. I will never back down from standing up for what we believe in, and I will continue to demand accountability from our government. Serving Marylanders in the United States Senate is an honor and a responsibility that I do not take lightly – this is all the more true during turbulent times. And even as we face this challenging moment, I am heartened by the history Maryland made last night in electing Angela Alsobrooks to the Senate. I will continue working every single day to represent our great state and the values we hold so dear.”
