Van Hollen Statement on Decision to Postpone Vote on Senate Republican Health Care Bill

Today U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen issued the following statement on the decision to postpone the vote on the Senate Republican health care bill. Senator Van Hollen spoke at a rally immediately after that news broke, and you can watch his remarkshere:

"It's not over until it's over - and it's not dead until it's dead. The fact that Senate Republicans have delayed the vote on their health care bill is welcome news, but it means we have to redouble our efforts to fight it over theJuly 4thholiday and beyond. I urge my colleagues to go home and listen to their constituents - the children, working families, and seniors who would be devastated if the Republican plan became law. I hope they'll come back ready to work with us in the light of day to improve our health care system, not destroy it. But we won't stand for any bill that strips health care away from tens of millionsof people in Maryland and across the country and gives tax breaks to the very wealthy and special interests."
