Van Hollen Statement on Senate Passage of Continuing Resolution to Fund Government through December 11th
Today, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) released the following statement regarding the Senate passage of a continuing resolution to fund the government through December 11th:
“Despite the President’s previous efforts to instigate shameful shutdowns, I’m glad that the Congress has come together on a bipartisan basis to ensure continued government funding through December 11th. This bill – while just a temporary measure – will ensure federal funds continue to flow to where they’re needed most. That being said, funding the government is not the only urgent need at hand. Republicans must get serious about providing more emergency relief for American workers, families, and businesses who are struggling against the weight of the COVID-19 crisis. The American people can’t afford to wait any longer.”
