Van Hollen Statement on the Passing of Blanca Kling
Today, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) released the following statement regarding the passing of Blanca Kling, dedicated public servant, and leader at the Montgomery County Police Department:
“My deepest condolences go to the family of Blanca Kling and to all who knew and loved her. Blanca was a role model, mentor, and champion for people throughout Montgomery County.
“In her years at the Montgomery County Police Department, Blanca served as a trusted advocate and thoughtful leader forging critical partnerships and fostering open lines of communication between the Montgomery County Police Department and the Hispanic community. I saw these efforts firsthand, and that is why I was honored to nominate Blanca for the Congressional Victims' Rights Caucus's Suzanne McDaniel Memorial Award in 2016, which she received for her work in Maryland as a media spokesperson, local leader, and victims' rights advocate.
“Blanca will be missed, but we will always remember her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to Montgomery County and to all Marylanders. Her positive legacy is all around us in the lives she changed and the stronger community she helped build.”
