Van Hollen Statement on Trump Federal Employee Executive Order Ruling

Today, U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) released the following statement regarding U.S. District Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s ruling on the Trump Administration’s federal employee executive orders:

“Today’s ruling is an important victory for the federal workers who stood up to the Trump Administration’s attack on their right to a safe and fair workplace. These civil servants are the doctors and nurses caring for our veterans at veterans’ hospitals, the researchers finding new cures and treatments for diseases at the National Institutes of Health, and the professionals who ensure that Americans receive the Social Security benefits that they have earned over a lifetime of working. I stood with them in strong opposition to these executive orders, and I continue to stand with them. Rather than attacking the rights of federal workers who blow the whistle on waste, fraud, and abuse, it’s time for President Trump to allow federal employees to get back to the work of serving the American people.”
